“FOR YOU, MANDALA” Paris 2015
I dreamed the Mandala FOR YOU. It came from Heaven. The Mandala is a Prayer to God, in order to worship her divine Beauty. Then we dreamed it together. We packed it in 24 boxes and shipped it to Paris. There it became an Installation of 4000 marble cylinders, Light, Sound and Smell. Reflected by a diffuse, giant black mirror, it was manifesting itself, light-filled, into the dark space, to nourish the human longing for Contemplation, Shelter and Love.
The Instalation “MANDALA / FOR YOU” was dreamed and realized by Matthias Contzen & Philippine Leroy Beaulieu. I was supported and financed by Bruno and Patrice from the Gallery, who trusted the adventurers, sound driven by David Hykes, and last not least, with a little big help for the light and reflection by Guillaume and Julien, mounted at Loo & Lou Gallery in Paris near Champs Elyseée. The Fact that WE did it, also overcoming a huge logistical/ technical challenge, shows that gravity is nothing in comparison with the power of imagination.
The interested observer was taken out of his everyday-life, to merge into a symphony of Crystals, Light and Sound receiving a heartwarming, healing boost of Energy.
The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle." Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony. The meanings of individual mandalas are usually different and unique to each mandala. The goal of the mandala is to serve as a tool on our spiritual journey as it symbolizes cosmic and psychic order.
There are various forms of mandalas with distinct concepts and different purposes. The individual representations range from the so-called Cosmic Mandalas, which transmit the ancient knowledge of the development of the universe and the world-systems which represents a high point among Mandalas dedicated to meditation; to the Mandalas of the Medicine God which demonstrates how the God-power radiates in all directions, portraying the healing power of the Devine.
The essence or purpose of the Mandala is concerned with the process of invocation, the calling in and realization of the spiritual force within the contemplator himself. All these different picture-tools have essentially the same inner meaning and purpose, but there are mandalas to suit all levels of consciousness.
