PLANET 108 PRESENTATION

Through Planet 108, the experience of crafting marble acquired a totally new dimension. The working journey of 108 days converted into 108 spiritual lessons. This is why on July 23, 2018 Contzen expressed: “I am working on it. It is working on me.”

MANDALA, FOR ALL

Mandala, For Us is a land art piece conceived to act as a centrifugal force that keeps fragments together. Through this work, Matthias conveys his need for wholeness, which is performed through the meditative journey of placing the pieces together.

PLANET LOVE

Showcased inside a Gothic Cathedral in Paris, Planet Love conveyed one’s spiritual connection with the divine, and its role as a nurturing aspect of human existence. It is a visual and sound installation that invites us to plunge in the moment in which consciousness becomes matter.

SHAPES IN SILENCE

Shapes in Silence” is Gallery Dutko’s invitation toward an immersion in an atmosphere of quietness and meditation. The two artists on display, German Matthias Contzen and British Tom Henderson, work in highly contrasting media and material. Their work transports the viewer to a notion of the pure and the abstract, which are better performed through classical forms via a preconceived intellectual approach that includes mathematical systems, geometric forms and manipulation of chosen materials.

FOR YOU, MANDALA

I dreamed the Mandala FOR YOU. It came from Heaven. The Mandala is a Prayer to God, in order to worship her divine Beauty. Then we dreamed it together. We packed it in 24 boxes and shipped it to Paris. There it became an Installation of 4000 marble cylinders, Light, Sound and Smell. Reflected by a diffuse, giant black mirror, it was manifesting itself, light-filled, into the dark space, to nourish the human longing for Contemplation, Shelter and Love.
